Welcome to SINISTIN , where the traditional craftsmanship of soap making meets the beauty of nature. We would like to give you an insight into our colorful world of organic soaps and go into more detail about soap production .
This begins with the careful selection of the right raw materials . We only use selected vegetable oils and fats of the highest quality . We rely on regional German and European raw materials. For example, our olive oil comes from sunny Italian fields, while our rapeseed oil comes from the Swedish countryside. The sea buckthorn used in the soaps comes from the North Sea coast. This conscious selection not only enables first-class products , but also helps reduce our carbon footprint .
We also attach great importance to environmental sustainability and therefore consistently rely on organic quality . Palm oil and mineral oil-based raw materials have no place in our soap production. Instead, our soap recipes contain valuable plants and herbs, such as marigold and sage, which not only care for the skin, but are also traditional medicinal plants that have been used for centuries.
Our soaps are lovingly handcrafted , without animal testing and without the use of animal fats such as beef tallow. We are proud to make almost all of our soaps vegan . We only use raw materials from live animals for special varieties; these are specially labeled and great attention is paid to animal welfare . Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
A look at the manufacturing process:
Arguably the most important step in the production of soap is the process of saponification . Sodium hydroxide, a basic lye, is added to the respective vegetable oils used. These now react with each other and form the so-called soap glue, a mushy mass that becomes firmer over time. The soap glue then becomes a solid soap block, which, after hardening, forms the basis for our high-quality organic soaps. This maturation process is very important for the quality of the soaps. The soap block rests, the fats and oils completely saponify, and the soap develops its mild and gentle effect on the skin.
Sodium hydroxide is essential to initiate the conversion of liquid fats into solid soaps.
It is important to emphasize that sodium hydroxide is used in the correct dosage and is no longer present in the final soap after the manufacturing process. The careful use of sodium hydroxide allows us to offer the highest quality soaps that are mild and gentle on the skin.
For us, transparency is our top priority. All ingredients are clearly declared , be it in the product descriptions or on the packaging. We package our soaps plastic-free with biodegradable paper bands made from renewable raw materials in order to make our contribution to the environment.
